My sweet little girl Savannah will be 2 years old this weekend! I am so excited and a little sad all at the same time. She is in love with Minnie Mouse, so I decided that will be the theme of the party. I will take pictures of everything this weekend. I wanted to share this little craft project that was very spontaneous. I went to Walmart this morning to pick up a few things and let Savannah browse the toy isles for what seemed to be hours....lol! This is her favorite outting right now. Anyway, while I was there I decided to check out the arts and crafts section. I noticed these cute foam letters. I looked to see if they had enough to spell Savannah's name....and they did. Then I thought, what could I do with this? I knew I wanted to use it in the decor for her birthday party somehow. Since her name is pretty long and I have an 8 ft long table in my dining room where her party will be...I figured it would make a great centerpiece that could go down the middle. I knew I had some wood skewers at home, so I found these 3 inch styrofoam cubes that I could stick them in and stick the letter on top. I bought some ribbon (although I am 1 pack of ribbon short....I'll go back later to grab it) to wrap around the cubes. I hope you all enjoy this little craft project!
Below is my table with all supplies need:
1. 3 inch styrofoam cubes
2. Ribbon (amount will be determined by how many letters you have)
4. hot glue gun
5. 11.75 inch skewers
6. spray paint for skewers
I cut the ribbon into 12 1/2 inch pieces to wrap around the cube and hot glue as you go.
I used 11.75 inch long wooden skewers.
I used a white gloss paint. I prefer Krylon....but for this....you could use anything. I just happened to have this already.
I used 3 inch styrofoam cubes.
