So here is one of the DIY's I did for my little girl's 2 year old birthday party! I took some photos of her a few days earlier and had them printed out so that I could hang 3 of them up for her party. Yes, I did actually coordinate one of her outfits to match her birthday decor...lol!
So this is really easy...I just fumbled around until I figured out what I wanted. I knew I wanted to hang the photos on the wall behind my dining room table. I haven't decided how I want to decorate that large wall yet, so there wasn't anything on it to move.
I had already purchased the Minnie Mouse Honey Comb decorative balls that are typically hung from the ceiling....however, once I opened them, I realized how small they are and wouldn't look right hanging them where I had planned. This is when I decided I would only open them halfway and tape them to the wall with double sided tape above the frames.....giving the illusion that the frames were hanging from them.
I purchased a black and white polk a dot ribbon and taped them to the backs of the frames and to the wall....The frames were actually attached to the wall via Command Velcro Strips.
1. Measure and cut ribbon to equal lengths of your choice. (1 per frame)
2. Decide where you want your frames on the wall, measure and place command strip on back of frames.
3. Tape the ribbon to the back top corners of the frames and place on the wall...tape top pointed part of ribbon to wall that will be underneather the minnie mouse honey comb ball or whatever your topper will be.
4. Secure your topper (minnie mouse honey comb ball, ribbon, signs, etc...) to the wall covering the top point of the ribbon...thus giving the illusion that they are hanging from the topper.
