So......one of my pet peeves I want to unveil is is not loading a dishwasher properly. I did not grow up with a dish washer, so when I got my 1st one I learned to load it correctly and NOT just throw things in there.
1) Fragile items (all glasses, plastics, small plates and spatulas & large utensils) are to go on the top rack. Glasses are to be placed between prongs to keep them in place NOT hanging on the prongs.
2) Larger plates should all be facing the same way and loaded toward the back of dishwasher on bottom rack. Medium plates and bowls on bottom towards front. Coffee mugs can be placed on bottom as well.
3) Silverware...for best cleaning you should place some with eating side up and some handles up BUT because I don't want anyone touching the eating side of my utensils when unloading, I place them with handles up. ALL forks are to be placed handles up for safety.
4) If you wash pots in the dish washer....it is best to use a separate cycle for them called "Pots"
